First vacation of my 9 months old daughter

Seawater. Image courtesy: pixabay This was just another evening. I had put my sweetie on the bed. I was taking my relaxing breath after a long tiring day. Suddenly a thought jumped into my mind. “This is the longest vacation I have been on but I have not planned any trip yet. How can I do that with me?” I immediately started checking random places and unexpectedly found a very cheap deal for Vizag. This is how it started. Destination Selection: Even though I found the discounted rate for Vizag, I used a few criteria to finalize the destination. They were: Inside city: I prefer to avoid outskirt locations while traveling with an infant. It has to be a proper city/town with medical shop availability. In that way, I can make sure I can arrange emergency medicine (if anything required) which I am not carrying. Weather: As infants do not have a strong immune system, it is better to avoid any location which has a huge altitude or temperature difference from their usual environment. Food:

Alternative drink for bed tea

Refreshing tea. Image courtesy: pexels.com   “ Do you want to have some tea? ” is the most asked question while welcoming a guest at home or starting any chit-chat on the street (though in a business meeting, we often offer coffee instead of tea to portray ourselves more professionally ;) ). No wonder, it is the most popular beverage throughout the world and it is consumed more or less by two-thirds of the total population of the world. And the obvious reason for its popularity is that anybody can make this easily, it can be enjoyed at any time of the day throughout the year and surprisingly unlike other beverages, it comes with several benefits. Like many others, I used to start my morning with tea for the last few years without realizing what harm I am making to my body. Drinking tea has been considered a health-promoting habit since ancient times and modern medicinal studies have proven beneficial effects in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, anti-aging, antidiabetic, and ma

Most effective steps to make your kid drink water

Toddler drinking water independently. Image courtesy: pexels.com ‘My child does not drink enough water.’ - this is a very common challenge many parents face. And as we are aware of the impact of dehydration, we parents get stressed out and madly look for several options to make our kids drink enough water. To build a habit of regularly drinking water, we just need to follow a simple 2 steps process. Buy an attractive water bottle :  - Buy a new bottle? Are you kidding me? Are you asking me to buy a new bottle every week just to get my kid to drink water? - Of Course not.  Getting a brand new gorgeous bottle is just the first step to switching your daughter/son’s attention from ‘drinking water' to his/her favorite bottle. You will be surprised to see him/her falling in love to drink from that pretty bottle. But this will not last for longer because this new favorite bottle will soon convert into an old boring bottle. “Then what’s next?” That’s where the next crucial step comes into

Help your kids to eat independently

Image
As a parent what is the most time-taking task you have to do daily? If your answer is ‘feeding my child’, believe me, you are not alone. A little boy is drinking milk. Image courtesy: pexels.com There is nothing wrong with your kid. S/he can be an independent eater soon. They just need little support and encouragement from us. And we should be absolutely fine with the mess s/he would be creating while eating. There are few rules we have to follow in this journey. These rules can be applied from a very early age of a baby (as long as s/he can sit without support).  1.     Proper and consistent place to eat : You must choose a comfortable place where s/he will sit and have her/his meal. Here I highly recommend a high chair/booster chair for a baby. If your baby is old enough to fit into the dining table, this would be the perfect place. Remember, you have to be consistent and encourage him/her to take all the meals while sitting in the same place.   2.     Family mealtime : As we kn

How to take Sunbath

The bright sun is shining. Image courtesy: pixabay How do you feel when you get up in the morning on a cloudy day? Yes, we feel dull, lethargic. And we rarely realize how much our energy level is connected to the only star in the Solar system. The Sun is the ultimate source of limitless energy on our Earth. Even though we are aware of the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) rays in the sunlight, from ancient times people figured out how we can use the power of the bright sun to heal our critical chronic diseases and bring radiant health. This technique is called Sunbathing. And it is slightly different from Sun tanning. The purpose of Sun tanning is to darken the skin tone, whereas Sunbathing therapy helps to keep our body's hormonal level stable. As we understand that excessive exposure to sunlight can be harmful to our bodies, we have to keep a few things in mind. When to take Sunbath? The best time to sunbathe is Morning and Evening. It should be done 2 hours after sunrise or 1
